Self-love. Strength. Spoken word. Sisterhood.

One year ago, everything changed. I just celebrated my second Covid birthday and hosted a virtual preview to Cries From Quarantine: Poems About Love alongside my dear friends Sho Love, Monica Yearwood and The Ashleys of Sisters-n-Spirit. (Woohoo to virtual parties!) Now as we close out Women’s History Month and one year of pandemic life, I’m so grateful for this journey. For how we’ve GROWN through this time…we didn’t just GO through it.

On Tuesday, March 30 CFQ the book and poetry album go out into the world. I had no idea what I was getting myself into but I knew I had to do this. Please join me and five powerful sisters in wellness for a livestream show celebrating the launch my debut poetry ensemble. My host is the ever-evolving, Earth Girl and Grammy Award Nominated producer, Mali Hunter. The circle of sisters is Madison Jaye, Drea Kelly, Dr. Tabitha Carr and Mary Honey B Morrison.

We’re talking about ALL things love from my book and beyond. Plus, I’ll be performing tracks from CFQ: The Gallery Remixes! You don’t want to miss this hour of power, poetry and purpose. The show streams live on YouTube (SUBSCRIBE NOW) at 6pm CT/7pm ET.

How have you changed from this past year? Tell me about how quarantine transformed your life in the comments below.

I was inspired by Harlem Renaissance poetry early on–in high school–and I honestly forgot about how much I enjoyed writing them. As far as process goes, I went from journaling to using the notes app in my phone to dictating during my quarantine walks. The mornings are great but sometimes spirit wakes me around 2am and I have to dictate the words in order to get back to sleep!!!
