When you talk to a true survivor, thriver and inspirer about the concept of UNCONDITIONAL love expect a GUT CHECK. Cries From Quarantine: Poems About Love’s second chapter is Unconditional Love. With May being the month we celebrate mothers and mother figures who blessed us with unconditional love as well as Mental Health Awareness Month, I decided to spread DREA Kelly’s message from the CFQ launch event.

Besides being a down-to-earth Chicago girl, DREA Kelly is a mother, international speaker, accomplished dancer/choreographer and domestic violence awareness advocate. Just like a Chicago-style dish–the city is known to add a signature “expression” to pizza, hot dogs, and wing sauce to name a few–she uniquely shares her personal experiences to uplift her community she lovingly refers to as “dreamers and butterflies.” I always get so filled up and fired up when I hear how crystal clear and intentional she is about self-love. Grab some tea and watch the six minute video on YouTube. You’ll feel like you’re having a kiki with your no-nonsense bestie!

DREA is powerful, fierce and loving. Her candid reminders about self-love and self-care being the highest form of unconditional love are EVERYTHING. If you’re not following DREA on Instagram, do yourself a favor and join the rest of us dreamers and butterflies. And don’t forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel and follow @criesfromquarantine on IG for more doses of love, inspired living and spoken word. This is our time. We are free to shine.

I LOVE YOU,

Dana Nicole
